Internal plastering on walls consists of two coats:

1. The base coat, which is applied thicker than the finishing coat.

2. The finishing coat, which consists of a thin smooth coat of plaster.

On ceilings, two thin coats of finishing plaster is normally applied. In both cases this is the norm. However in some cases a different technique may be required due to the structure of the wall.

All plaster finishes can be decorated with paint, wallpaper or vinyl once the plaster has dried out completely and been treated with a paint sealer.

Traditional plastering has developed a great deal in recent years. Many new products have been introduced by manufacturers such as British Gypsum, Lafarge and Knauf.

We use quality plaster, and you can be sure when your plasterer applies it you will get faster drying times, better impact resistance, more versatility on a range of backgrounds (whether they are high or low suction).
